Many are working from home and are adopting a relaxed attitude.

Think Positive. As employees navigate this new work territory of teleconferencing, many are adapting an attitude of comfort and relaxation. It seems like people in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Plano areas are keeping their business casual attire in the closet for now, and instead are wearing that old concert t-shirt and shorts to work.

Think Positive. For many people, being at home during this pandemic has caused a re-awakening of creative interest that lay dormant. If social media is any gauge to go by, people are breaking open their old watercolors and acrylic paints and creating art. That acoustic guitar that was gathering dust has been retuned and new strings have been purchased online.

It’s not just artistic exploration that has been rekindled, but a renewed interest in fitness and exercise...

Think positive. We’re all still practicing social distancing during this time. In supermarkets and retail stores, spots are marked out as to where to stand. Restaurants are starting to slowly open up, but in a limited way.

During this time of social distancing and staying indoors, many people are getting rid of their cabin fever and walking around their neighborhoods, even if they don’t have a dog. 

It’s hard not to notice, but neighborhoods seem less closed off and insular now...

Think Positive. Something magical is happening in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Plano areas, and that is people are rediscovering cooking. For some this began out of necessity, as many of people’s favorite North Texas restaurants have been closed. But even as things are slowly starting to open up, the groundwork has been established to have a new generation of people cooking at home and making better nutritional choices.

Since children have been at home, and not school, the school lunch is now served in the home dining room…

Think positive during this time. Co-workers are adapting to a work-at-home setting by interacting and connecting with each other distantly by way of online meetings, but interestingly, so is everyone else.

One of the many surprises of this time is how quickly families have adopted online connecting technologies, such as Zoom and Google Meet. During this quarantine, it’s encouraging to watch tech-savvy grandkids assisting their grandparents, or even parents, in setting up conference calls. 

Right now, families are together, and we think that’s what really matters above all else. This is a unique moment in which parents and children have been sequestered indoors together for a long period of time. This has presented many challenges, but we’re convinced that this close interaction will have lasting benefits on our kids’ lives.

School closings in Dallas, Denton, Collin Counties, and the rest of the State have turned parents into acting as stand-in teachers. Living rooms have been turned into classrooms. 

Think positive during this time. When we look back at this time, we may very well be wishing we had these few months again. As the world heals and returns to regular daily life, don’t forget the little things we laughed about and enjoyed.
