For many, imagining a time where fully autonomous vehicles are available on the consumer market still seems a lifetime away, but those in the car industry understand that self-driving cars will inevitably enter the market within the next decade, or so. In fact, Toyota Engineering is working with the University of Michigan in an effort to make autonomous vehicles that will support and more harmoniously coexist with drivers.

Toyota of Plano wants to wish you a happy Groundhog Day! Today’s holiday has roots in an old Germanic tradition used to predict an early spring or a prolonged winter. In this tradition animals that hibernate during the winter were used to determine when spring was arriving. This method came from the understanding that these animals awake from their hibernation when spring arrives. 

Have you heard of a man named Doug DeMuro? If you have, you may know him as a successful automotive Journalist and YouTuber. So why does our Toyota of Plano team want to discuss this particular automotive influencer. Well simply put, Doug recently retired his Range Rover and chose to purchase a 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser to replace it.

Our Toyota of Plano team wants to wish you all a very happy holiday season and remind you to stay safe over the next couple of weeks. Many people will be traveling for the holiday season, between now and New Years Day. Unfortunately this means that we all must remain especially vigilant on the roads. According to the American Automobile Association, Holiday travel will reach its peak between December 23 and January 3.

Last year, we had a particularly cold winter, and this unanticipated weather led to extreme road conditions and several electricity outages, across the state of Texas. This year, Toyota of Plano has pledged to help our customers be better prepared for any unexpected winter weather.
