600 Ɨ 400

Our Toyota of Plano team wants to wish you all a very happy holiday season and remind you to stay safe over the next couple of weeks. Many people will be traveling for the holiday season, between now and New Years Day. Unfortunately this means that we all must remain especially vigilant on the roads. According to the American Automobile Association, Holiday travel will reach its peak between December 23 and January 3.

We’ve put together a few helpful tips to ensure that everyone can be fully prepared, during their holiday travel. Planning around travel can be difficult, especially when traffic can be unpredictable around the holidays. There are a few apps that we encourage you to explore. Most new vehicles will be able to display these apps, whatever your phone preference, IPhone or Android.

Developed by Google, Waze is a popular program that will automatically calculate real time traffic and weather updates. This information about traffic slowdowns is generated ingeniously by comparing GPS signals and other user reports. In this way, you can preview directions and routes. Even in an unfamiliar setting, you will be able to drive like a local with shortcuts, get around construction and obstacles, and find safer routes.

Getting stuck on the roadside in heavy traffic can be a stressful and time consuming affair. Take steps now to prevent this. If you have time, take your vehicle to be serviced at our Toyota of Plano service center. Even if you’ve recently serviced your vehicle, unexpected things can happen. Ask our service department to have our Toyota-trained expert technicians check your spare tire pressure and any other maintenance items that may need to be evaluated. Our team can also provide you with backup engine oil, coolant, and jumper cables.

Make sure your phone is charged. That way If anything unexpected were to happen to your vehicle, you could contact the Toyota of Plano service center. Our technicians would be happy to walk you through any maintenance items - to ensure that you can get to your destination safely.

Finally, have you scheduled your service appointment for when you return? A long road trip can take a toll on your engine. It’s better to stay up-to-date with your vehicle maintenance then wait until there's a bigger, more costly issue. Schedule your service appointment with Toyota of Plano by going to our Service & Parts tab.
