How Do You Connect to Toyota Bluetooth?

Pairing your smartphone with your Toyota vehicle unlocks a world of entertainment and connectivity features. Here at Toyota of Plano, we're dedicated to helping you make the most of your vehicle's technology. That's why we’re here to show just how easy it is to connect your phone to the Toyota Bluetooth® system, and once you do, you can fully utilize your Toyota's in-car technologies. The Toyota Bluetooth® system even allows for multiple devices to be paired, making it simple to switch between phones or tablets while on the go. 

Before you start pairing your phone, please verify its compatibility with your Toyota model by visiting https://www.toyota.com/connect/. Afterward, follow these simple steps:

1. Turn your Toyota on. Select “Settings” on the touchscreen, then select “Bluetooth & Devices”.

2. Select “Search for Devices”. If an existing device is already associated, select “Add another device”.

3. Select “OK” on the pop-up, and then choose the device from the list.

4. A code will appear on both the phone and vehicle display. Confirm they match and press “OK”

5. If you don’t have the Toyota App already you will receive a notification that if you select “OK” will send you a link to download the app if you would like.

6. Then Select “Yes” if you want the phone to be your primary device

7. Next Select “Yes” to enable Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, or “No” to continue as a regular Bluetooth® device.

8. Tap through any prompts on your mobile device to allow Apple CarPlay or Android Auto use, or to allow contact sync and messaging

And that's it! Your smartphone is now connected to your vehicle via Toyota Bluetooth®. When you want to pair other phones with your car or SUV in the future, simply confirm that Bluetooth® is enabled on your device and complete the following process:

1. Press "Settings” on the touchscreen

2. Press "Bluetooth & Devices"

3. Choose your device from the list.

4. Press “Connect” if a different device is currently paired, select “OK” to switch

5. To “Disconnect” or “Forget” a device, it can be done from the same screen.

Repeat this process to connect up to four phones or other smart devices to your Toyota.
