Toyota engineering is being recognized for the 8th consecutive year, by Intellectual Property Owners Association(IPO), for earning the most research and development patents among automakers in the United States. In fact, they were granted over 2,750 patents in 2021 alone. These patents allowed Toyota to progress in categories such as electrification, automated driving systems, hardware, AI and more.
