Toyota of Plano is dedicated to providing you with the latest industry news, and today, we have a very exciting update. According to sources close to the Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota is pushing to restart production starting in December 2021. This is a major victory for car buyers, after material shortages and suppliers restricted by social distancing policies caused a delay in manufacturing.
Some suggest that Toyota suppliers’ have been asked to build an additional 97,000 Toyota vehicles, between December 2021 and the end of March 2022. While Toyota has not made a formal statement on their production plans past November 2021, much of this information comes from seemingly reliable sources.
Others have commented on the subject, including Takashi Miyao, a researcher at automotive industry consultant Carnorama. According to Miyao, “COVID infection rates in Southeast Asia are dropping dramatically and people’s concerns about production risk are easing”. He went on to suggest that the industry appears to be “emerging from a tunnel”. By tunnel we can only assume that Miyao is referring to the halt in automobile manufacturing and pandemic related material shortages.
With too few supplies, many automobile manufacturers haven’t been able to keep up with increased demand for vehicles. We are proud to see Toyota making strides towards a post pandemic return to increased production. Whether or not this news has been formally confirmed, it appears that Toyota Corporate may be ready to ramp up vehicle production.
