The all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra has hit the streets. Toyota of Plano is excited to announce that this entirely redesigned full-size truck has been awarded the prestigious honor of “Truck of Texas” at the 2021 Annual Texas Truck Rodeo.
This event, held in the Texas Hill Country near Austin, brought together over 40 automotive journalists to evaluate the world’s top manufacturers' latest trucks and SUVs. Each vehicle was evaluated based on a variety of attributes, including the interior, exterior, value, personal appeal, and performance. In addition to being inspected, all vehicles were run on a challenging on and off-road course to put their performance to the test, and the Toyota Tundra, quite literally, left its competition in the dust.
Lisa Materazzo, the Group Vice President of Toyota Marketing, reacted to the news in a statement: “The 2022 Toyota Tundra is truly an all-new truck inside and out, and we’re honored that Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) recognized all the great features the Tundra offers”. She went on to recognize the Tundra as having an “American story through and through, as it is not only assembled at our manufacturing plant in San Antonio, but it was designed and developed in California and Michigan, its engines are built in Alabama and the multimedia system was developed by our Connected Technology team in Plano”.
