Toyota is expanding its lineup once again, and this time the latest entrant is a subcompact crossover utility vehicle (CUV) called the 2018 Toyota C-HR. Starting at just $22,500, it's a reasonably affordable model, but "reasonable" isn't exactly the image that springs to mind when looking at it.
Design. We love the standout design of the C-HR, which makes it impossible to ignore. It incorporates Toyota's Distinctive Diamond theme, and fashions itself after a coupe with hidden rear doors.
Performance. The C-HR was track-tested on the Nürburgring, one of the world's most challenging racing circuits, to fine-tune its handling. From its responsive steering to its suspension designed to smooth out bumpy ground, the C-HR drives as thrillingly as it looks.
Technology. Toyota Safety Sense P™ (TSS-P) is standard, meaning every C-HR is equipped with pre-collision active braking, pedestrian detection, dynamic-radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. It also features new brake hold technology.
